Frequently asked questions
Is 7 days enough for Karnataka?
For the Big 4 (Bengaluru + Coorg + Hampi + Mysuru), yes. For Karnataka coast (Gokarna, Udupi, Mangalore) add 4 more days.
Best time for Hampi?
October to March. December to February is coolest. Avoid April to June (35+). Monsoon (June to September) makes some ruins slippery but landscape lush.
Coorg or Chikmagalur?
Coorg is more polished and touristy (more stays, cafes). Chikmagalur is quieter and cheaper. Both are coffee estate zones. Combine if you have 4+ days in Karnataka hills.
How to get to Hampi?
Fly to Hubli (HBX) + 3h drive. Or overnight train from Bengaluru to Hospet (10h) + 30 min drive. Direct flights growing since 2024.
Is Hampi worth the trip?
Yes. UNESCO World Heritage, one of India's most unique landscapes (boulders + temples). 2 days minimum; ideally 3.
